Keep in mind this player has to be the biggest impact on defense and explain why you feel that person is.
Ray Lewis for the Ravens
Patrick Willis for the 49ers
Lofa Tatupu for the Seahawks
Bob Sanders for the Colts
Brian Urlacher for the Bears
DeMarcus Ware for the Cowboys
Joey Porter for the Dolphins
Jared Allen for the Vikings
Troy P for the Steelers
D'Qwell jackson for the browns
Marcus Stoud for the Bills
John Henderson for the Jaguars
Keith Bullock for the Titans
Jerod Mayo for the Patriots
Shawn Merriman for the Chargers
Justin Tuck for the Giants
Ashante Samuel for the Eagles
Nhamdi Ashomuga for the Raiders
I didnt do everyteam so dont be mad if i didnt select your team.|||Just based on last season, it was Shawne Merriman. The Chargers had the 25th ranked total D %26amp; 31st ranked pass D in the NFL, %26amp; they still had 2 ProBowl caliber CBs in Quentin Jammer %26amp; Antonio Cromartie. Without Merriman, SD has no pass rush, %26amp; it directly affected the secondary. The Chargers need him to make a big impact, because the attention other teams must commit to Merriman because of his great pass rushing skills opens things up for other guys like Shaun Phillips. Not to mention his toughness %26amp; leadership skills motivate everyone on the team.|||Bob Sanders for the Colts.
In 2006 when the Colts won the Super Bowl Sanders missed most of the regular season and the defense finished ranked 22nd. Then he returned for the postseason and the defense made the Colts win the first couple of playoff games where Manning was shaky.
He played most of 2007 and not only he won the defensive MVP award, but the Colts defense finished 3rd overall. Last season he played 6 games and the defense finished 11th, there is an interesting proportion between the number of games Sanders plays and the overall performance of the defense.|||Bob Sanders for the Colts
Very different team without him. Heart and soul of their defense.|||Bob Sanders doesn't play full seasons, the colts are getting used to it and Melvin Bullet his back up played like a starter, without Nhamdi Ashomuga can u name another Raiders defensive player? hes probably the best corner in the league right now and if it wasn't 4 him they would have been a potential 0-16 team|||i CAN name players from the Raiders defense
Kirk Morrison, Michael Huff, Derrick Burgess
Troy Polomalu
the Steelers defense is the best in the league and he has a huge role in that
He is the league's most dominant safety and one of the hardest hitters
he plays smart and he has great leadership
as much as i hate to admit it|||I know I'm not really answering the question, but I actually think Ed Reed makes a bigger impact on Baltimore's defense than Ray Lewis does.|||Bob Sanders for the Colts.
Sanders is injured frequently and its easy to see how much better that defense is with him and how much worse it is when they dont have him.
