I am concerned about identity theft. Is personal information shown, such as, my social security number when my id card is scanned?|||no the only thing they can get from your id card is your address, full name, date of birth and drivers license number. no worries, its usually for your protection that they ask for it.|||Depends on the state...some states actually use the social security number as the id number.i think they aretrying to do away with this method..identity theft can happen with your mail, breakins at any establishment you give your info to like Dr.'s ect so that would be more of a concern for me!
Keep getting credit reports yearly to make sure there's nothing fishy on it is all you can do.

Where I live 2 mos ago they had a break in at the local DMV and they stole database for thousands of people for identity theft. Local authority's aired this on the news and warned people to watch thier credit for misuse. Even though it is a fairly good question cause you wanted answers, do not worry about it so much.|||Look at the card. The information on the magnetic strip is probably exactly the same as what is printed on the card. The state that issued the card is the best source of information about what the magnetic strip contains.
