There is a home that i know is foreclosed on. How do i go about getting information on it and putting an offer in w/o an agent? Is that possible?|||Probably not. Try taking the name of the person who was foreclosed on to the recorder of deeds office; if there has been a deed of foreclosure, there should be some index against his name; and it will show who is currently in title to the property.|||Banks are not in the business of selling houses so they hire agents to sell the foreclosed houses for them. They will not negotiate with you directly. All offers need to be submitted through an agent once the house is put on the market.|||The county clerk's office will be able to tell you who owns the home, and usually who provided the loan.

But alas, you won't be able to deal directly with the bank in most cases whether it's a foreclosure or a short-sale.|||Generally not. Lenders with foreclosed properties do not want to deal directly with interested buyers. Why not ? Because they simply do not have the expertise to know the various rules of real estate in all fifty states. That is why they handle professionals to dispose of such property.

Until the property is actively listed for sale, your communications will be ignored. The house may well be titled to the lender, but there may be title issues which need to be cleared prior to seeking a buyer.
