I have windows 7, I try to download zip files, I unzip them and the only files there is a system information file and 2 dll files. However I can't see the information file on word pad notepad or anything of that sort. I do not see any exe file. I need to find the exe file so i can install and use products. Whats going on? And how do I fix this?|||What are you downloading and why? dll's are executable. The info file tells your system where to install the dll and how to register it to the system. If you actually need these for something and are an admin under Windows7 you should be able to right-click on the file and see if Install is an option. Otherwise the info file should be in text form. My friend has some very strange batroom tiles: they appear to be marble effect but are in fact comprised of layers and layers of semi opaque black and white images so that if you look at them for long enough you reialise each one contains hundereds of hidden images. I have a 160 gigabyte external harddrive from Seagate and whenever I plug it into my laptop, it tells me it needs to be formatted. I've made the mistake of formatting it before and all of the information is deleted. It is shared between my parents and I and so none of us want to delete our stored info from it. How can I fix this?|||Seagate is usually a great brand, but nothing's perfect. Sounds like the drive is connected via a USB connection. I'm also guessing that it's inside an external hard drive case. I mean, usually if you have an external HD, and you KNOW it's Seagate, then the HD is inside an interchangeable case such as a DYNEX or some other brand. Possibly the case is busted, and you can move the Seagate to a new external case. Or possibly the computer has problems with USB. Try these: 1. if you can, remove the HD from the case and insert it into another external case and try it then with your laptop. 2. try the Seagate as is, with another computer besides the laptop. Make sure the computer is Windows 98 SE or later. 3. Try booting to Knoppix with either your own laptop, or another computer that has at least two available USB 2.0 slots. After Knoppix has booted completely, connect the Seagate. Did it work? If so, then connect a large USB flash drive. Did it work? If so, then copy the data from the Seagate to the flash drive. This may take a long time, be patient and don't start clicking everything fast or you'll crash it. Knoppix is a version of linux that boots directly from a CD without writing anything to the HD of the computer you're using. It's very good at recognizing USB, HD's, floppies, network connections, etc.. 4. If you care a lot about the data and are willing to pay someone to get the data off of it, you can use Ontrack (link is below). 5. I've had success on occasion with components I've placed in a freezer for 30 minutes (exactly, don't leave it in there longer, or you could hurt it). Usually, all it takes is calling the appropriate company and re-registering the chip. It is most likely just an ID number that would be connected to a new owner through the registry or whoever keeps the database for the chip. Check with the vet who implanted it.|||The first step is to contact the registry with which the horse is registered. They will tell you what to do. Fact: Some registry's require mandatory micro-chipping, like Freisiens. Depends on the breed.|||Well, the association with which the horse is registered has nothing to do with any microchipping as this is right now a personal choice to do so. Before you purchase the horse ask the owners to contact the vet that microchipped the horse and have a release signed by the vet, stating the horse is changing owners hands and the microchip should either be reset to where there is no longer any information on it, or to where your info is placed on it. Make sure you have the horse's papers or transfer papers if you haven't yet switched the names over to varify that the horse is in fact yours. IF the horse is unregistered have a bill of sale handy. If you can't use the previous owners vet for some reason, take the horse to yours. They will scan the chip, and pull up the horses' info. Then they will change the previous owners information to your updated one. Be aware that if you don't have proof of purchase on the horse, a vet will show you the door. My suggestion is try to get the info switched with the owners vet who placed the chip, as the owners would be able to go with you and varify in person so there is no problems or accusations of theft.
